Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What type of pet's do you groom?

A. We groom both dogs and cats. Please Note: If you are looking to have a service done on your cat we require the paperwork from their veterinarian showing the expiration date of their rabies vaccine. If they have had their rabies vaccine administered recently, we require a 24 hour wait period before we can provide services.

Q. How long does a bath or grooming service take?

A. We typically ask for 3 - 4 hours to complete the service on your pet.

Q. Why does it take so long?

A. We ask for 3-4 hours for a couple of reasons.

        1. We do work on multiple pets at a time.

        2. We also like to read your pet's body language. If they need a break we want to be able to give them that time to relax to ensure a pleasant and fun visit.

Q. My pet has anxiety in a kennel. Is there a service where they can get in and out?

A. We offer an "Express" service. This service is an additional fee, but allows us to perform the service straight through on your pet with no kennel time. Generally, most pets are completed within 1 - 1.5 hours.

Q. Do you offer a nail trimming service? Do I need to make an appointment for it?

A. We offer nail trimming for $10 and an appointment is REQUIRED.

Q. How old does my pet need to be to receive a service?

A. We offer services for pets that are 8 weeks and older.

Q. When can I bring my cat in for a service?

A. We provide services to cats Monday through Thursday. We do not service cats on Friday's and Saturday's to ensure their experience is fun and stress free. Friday's and Saturday's are our busiest days of the week and tends to be pretty loud. We have found that this stresses out cats, therefore we have created this policy to ensure your cat's safety and happiness during their visit. Please Note: If you are looking to have a service done on your cat we require the paperwork from their veterinarian showing the expiration date of their rabies vaccine. If they have had their rabies vaccine administered recently, we require a 24 hour wait period before we can provide services.

Q. Do you brush my pets teeth during their service?

A. Absolutely! The staff at The DogSpaw recognizes how important dental hygiene is for your pet, which is why we brush their teeth with every bath or grooming service. You can also schedule an appointment just for teeth brushing for only $10. Please keep in mind that although regular brushing of your pets teeth is highly recommended, dentals done by the Veterinarian are also crucial in maintaining your pets dental hygiene as well. The Veterinarian will be able to remove any built up plaque and tartar and inspect each tooth to ensure a healthy happy pet! Teeth brushing is a great way to maintain a healthy mouth between dentals done by the Veterinarian.

Q. Do you service pregnant or nursing pets?

A. For the safety of the Mother and the babies, we do not service pregnant or nursing pets.

Q. Do you have coupons? How do I redeem them?
